Sheffield facing housing shortage

Sheffield, like other major cities across the UK, is facing a housing shortage.

There are 20,000 people on Sheffield City Council's housing waiting list actively bidding for homes and, with the population of the City expected to reach 600,000 by 2020, there is a clear need for new homes to be built.

Sheffield Housing Company is at the forefront of helping to tackle this problem, by providing 2,300 high quality affordable new homes over the next 15 years, with work already started on two sites.

With the current difficulties in the economy delaying many other housing development schemes, Sheffield is seeing the continued building of high quality, family housing for sale and rent by drawing upon the expertise of the partners within Sheffield Housing Company.
