Parson Cross has lots of green areas and local nature sites such as Colley Park, Longley Park, Parson Cross Park and Tongue Gutter. There is excellent access to public transport and it is only a short distance of less than three miles to Meadowhall Shopping centre.

On Wednesday 25 August 2021 between 3:30 to 6:30pm we hosted a drop in session for local people to come to and speak to us about our plans for Becket Hill. We had a gazebo on the grassed land at Mansel Avenue, to the rear of Chaucer Road shopping parade. Information was made available on the scheme layout and we provided examples of house designs and floor plans. Thank you to all who came along

Prior to this event, in May 2021, we submitted a planning application (reference 21/02598/FUL) for the development of 73 new houses on the Becket Hill site. The proposed layout is available to download at the top of this page and also available to view on the planning application website. Planning permission has been granted, and work began on site later in Spring 2024. The high quality, accessible two, three and four bedroomed properties are likely to be completed by 2026. 

The new homes are to be designed to fit within the local surroundings and benefit from ample car parking and landscaping. As a responsible developer, we and our partners will work hard to keep disruption for existing residents to a minimum during the construction period
